Understanding Conflict and the Human beings Natural Response to Conflict. 🍃

Important Life Tip: Conflict is INEVITABLE.
( Sorry I had to shout)
A little Google Search to define Conflict.
We now understand that Conflict is inevitable and is an everyday struggle for each and everyone of us. We differ in values, self-interest, priorities and in other ways.
The less effectively we manage differences, the more conflict we experience as a result.
Our responses to conflicts has been ingrained in us since ages ago (insert Darwin's Theory )
Naturally, our response to conflict has been "Flight" or "Fight". A threat was either confronted with a fight or running away ( Flight).
We no longer fight with spears and run into forests and bushes but the " Flight" & "Fight" responses have evolved as well.
In modern society;
"Flight" has evolved to - " cutting off funds, overriding objections & stating ultimatums"
"Fight" has evolved to -" avoiding meetings, failing to return phone calls".
Flight is distancing also known as "walk always" which is an effort to withdraw, walking out, hanging up and termination of contact.
Fight is coercion also known as "power plays" which is an effort to defeat the other, threats, intimidation and coercion.
Now as human beings we have evolved & use language to express ourselves.
As a result a hybrid of "Flight" & "Fight ", Passive Aggression:
-Making uncomplimentary remarks to associates about others
-Undermining support of projects -Finding excuses for no response to a request
To solve a conflict we need to move away from the above responses.
These impulses are termed as Wrong Reflexes.

During this isolation period start by noticing your patterns and reflexes/ responses during conflicts for healthy growth in interpersonal relationships.
Your responses are valid, whatever they are. We cannot escape conflict and we should therefore learn to not get to extremes and harness balance & harmony.

If in need of help in solving a conflict my DM's are open.
