Haikyuu writing appreciation post!!! Probably a thread!
So what’s interesting about Haikyuu’s writing (from the perspective of a weeb who watches too much anime and reads too much manga with no real degree in any form of writing) is that it’s so character centric.
I think we can all agree that while the story and concept of Haikyuu isn’t really anything special, it’s the characters and how they react that makes it beautiful.
The characters are written in a much deeper fashion that really allows us to delve into their psychology and how they think. And unlike the numbers on the characters jerseys, it’s very much consistent.
Bokuto is very emotionally intelligent, it’s not outright said, but we can pick up on small tics and patterns from chapters.
The character development in this series is phenomenal and so is the writing. The pacing in the beginning, I’ll be honest, was a bit too rushed, however after the first tournament, it got so much better. And that is to be expected since people grow as time goes on.
Not gonna go too deep into it, but I just wanted to throw my opinions and feelings onto twitter and allow it to sit and stir for a bit before I revisit this thread lol
Maybe I’ll revisit this after I take some classes to learn more about making comics n stuff
