this might be somewhat of a long thread (or maybe it won’t be, idk):
I love how they did Winifred’s character. They could have gone the usually horrible route but they didn’t. We acknowledge that the only reason Gilbert can’t spend his life with her is simply because she’s not

Anne. Winifred is nice, educated and maybe even ambitious. She’s everything Anne would be had Anne been raised in the same lifestyle as Winnie. Winifred was welcoming and helpful to Bash, was the first person to ask Anne if she did her name with an E or not. There’s no bad blood

in her and the reason she was so upset was because of the customs she’d been raised with and because she felt low in herself that she felt she wasn’t even good enough as a settlement but Gilbert helped her through that. I just love that we all see that Winnie wasn’t an evil

person at all. She’s simply, not Anne. Which helped tie in to Gilbert‘a letter of “it always has been and always will be, you Anne” because even when he tried to move past her he couldn’t and it was even with a nice person it just wasn’t his Anne.

I applaud Moira for that because I’m really glad that we saw Gilbert with a mirror image of his true love and he couldn’t settle for someone else because it wasn’t his true love. Moira gave us no reason to hate Winnie and I love that. I admire Winnie and hope she’s well.

anyway, that’s my long winded way of saying there’s more than one way of showing your OTP is destined and it doesn’t have to be an interference from an evil source. If they truly love each other they’ll come back on their own.
