THREAD 4.
What went on in my home during this pandemic is a shift in lifestyle.
I was required to step up. And I took on my role.
Kept everyone separated.
My mom in he room, my brother in his, and my dad, who has asthma and is almost 60, downstairs and away from everyone.
What went on in my home during this pandemic is a shift in lifestyle.
I was required to step up. And I took on my role.
Kept everyone separated.
My mom in he room, my brother in his, and my dad, who has asthma and is almost 60, downstairs and away from everyone.
I did the grocery runs. I did the essentials runs. I boiled the ginger lemon honey tea. I took temperatures around the clock. When I got ahold of a pulse oximeter, I took oxygen and pulse around the clock.
I delivered necessities and groceries to my loved ones and friends. I distributed disinfectants and face masks and gloves. I just wanted everyone safe even if I was at risk.
I did the ice packs and towel baths for my brother. I rotated the Vick’s Vapor Humidifier amongst my mom, brother, and dad. I did the cooking. I did the cleaning.
Why did I put myself at risk? Because I was still alive and I was well. I was willing and able. And that’s all you need.
I did my course assignments. I aced my assignments. I stayed up late to get everything done.
Once I got sick, I fell behind. Way behind. I’m still way behind.
But I’m alive. My family is alive. God is good.
