I& #39;ve seen on tumblr multiple people questionning where Rook and Gakuto roles fall in term of "typical" yu gi oh main characters and i have to say that. I disagree completely with everyone taking Gakuto character for granted as only for comic relief. Ok this thread aint about rushcouncil BUT their friendship is already established, and that& #39;s why making Gakuto a rival is a good idea, something going to happen to thorn the group and make Gakuto question everything (probably Roa or Goha) And thats a great trope i think.

The second way is. The bestfriend, while Rook and Yuga are 100% going to end friendly rivals (in a similar way Yusaku and Takeru were) Gakuto has so much potentiel as the best friend, because the real rival is probably going to end up being Roa. Gakuto is uptight about rules
