How can a musician effectively/successfullyu share their music?

Not asking about how to *make a living* with it. That seems nearly impossible. I still haven't learned how to do better than a net-zero Reddit post without any response comments.

This question inspired by:

I was looking through my Reddit profile for something else I posted recently, and noticed that my post earlier this week in /r/ShareYourMusic had only received a single vote (negative).

If I can't do better *there* I'm legit baffled.
