I agree with @BartAndrews that all mental health professionals should be required to have training in helping patients with suicidal thoughts and behaviors. Suicidality appears across a diversity of mental health issues. #SPSM

I have also heard from patients that it hurts them when a therapist says they have to be referred out at the mention of suicidal thoughts. #SPSM
