oh of course this is what judy kuhn is singing! there's a really lovely studio recording of her doing this song
okay i'm threading my tweets about the thing. katrina lenk doing Johanna as a folksy guitar ballad is charming
honestly speaking of charming i am LOVING seeing all these highly successful broadway people singing to prerecorded piano backing tracks. stars...they're just like us
brandon uranowitz...handsome. also i have sung this song! it's a nice song to sing, one of relatively few theatre songs out there suitable for a young bari-bass
i really need to familiarize myself with more of melissa errico's work. i've heard some but clearly not enough
hell yes elizabeth stanley millers son
i still regret i wasn't able to see her in the xanadu tour
we are blessed with a surfeit of good recordings of this song, but i'm def very into this one
(favourite still maybe kate baldwin?)

mandy going a cappella...nice
hmmmmm this is a song choice
all i will say is that i would consider myself too old for "giants in the sky" and would also avoid it because of my vocal range. the pertinence of these observations i leave as an exercise for the reader
lea salonga singing "loving you" though....i love this song, it's such a perfect little diamond
short, straightforward, but with just enough unexpected turns to never feel predictable or simplistic
i appreciate laura benanti's voice for a number of reasons but part of it is that i ALSO have a lot of natural vibrato and sometimes i get very self-conscious about it
i appreciate her ability to nail both comedy songs and super emotionally impactful ones, seemingly with equal ease
"no more" is a dream of a song. when i first got really into theatre through into the woods, as a teen, i didn't appreciate it properly. but now it's one of my faves from that score
joanna gleason is EXTREME hair goals and her glasses also are very good
THE GLEASON FAKEOUT
i wish i still had her recording of pleasant little kingdom
god assassins is such a weird thorny little show. and brian stokes mitchell has a real good voice
very impressive natural lighting wherever cerveris is recording
one of i think three performers in this so far i have been lucky enough to see live on stage? despite my extremely limited access to NY theatre lol (i have not been there since 2012)
(the other two are benanti [with cerveris in 'In the Next Room'] and zien [Into the Woods, central park 2012])
i know donna murphy is slated to perform and she's on the list too
i know donna murphy is slated to perform and she's on the list too
i've heard this anecdote from jason alexander before and it's a fun one. joanna gleason has a somewhat similar story about 'It Takes Two' but for vocal register instead of tuning
bless u linda lavin
gemignani bringing the chaireography
side note: very funny to me that i have gotten catty exactly one (1) time in this thread and that's the tweet that EASILY outstrips the rest in terms of getting a reaction from all u folks
i see you. and i support you.
i see you. and i support you.
someone in a tree!!
i'm not normally one for silver foxes but.......
anyway now that i've made two thirsty tweets in this thread that's MY quota on the subject more than met.
