Probably my favorite member of the 2020 Packers UDFA class is Utah State’s Tipa Galeai. The long-armed OLB prospect had a productive career at Utah State, after transferring from TCU. In 2018, he had 13.5 TFL, 10 Sacks, 2 INT (1 pick 6) and 3 FF. He added 9TFL and 5 sacks in 2019
Galeai dominated against Michigan State in 2018. They used him mostly as a stand-up pass rusher. Was able to dip that shoulder to beat the tackle, but wasn’t able to get to Lewerke.
Galeai goes completely untouched and gets this sack. He’s undersized, but he’s incredibly explosive off the line. Always times the snap really well.
Another speed rush. Not a lot of technique with Galeai—he does introduce a spin move eventually and he uses that dip, but very little hand usage. Just wins with pure speed, explosion, and timing.
Just blows by the tackle with his speed and dips his shoulder *just* enough that the tackle can’t do anything. Thought he was gonna break Lewerke’s leg here—it could have been bad.
Well that’s certainly one way to beat pass protection
One thing you see a lot with Galeai: he ends up slipping a lot. Don’t know if that’s just because he’s moving too fast and he loses his balance or what, but it’s noticeable a couple times.
Galeai is gonna need to spend some time in the weight room at the next level, but he wasn’t having any of this block here.
Just watch how fast his first step is and how well he timed the snap.
Another instance where he has the tackle beat with his pure speed, but then just slips trying to turn that corner to get to the QB
Now, I’m fairly certain that Gary Andersen’s sole purpose in life is to take really good players and make them worse. He took the 235lb Galeai, who had 10 sacks as a stand up edge rusher, and made him play with his hand in the dirt.

I wouldn’t wish Gary Andersen on anyone.
Just getting bullied here. Turns out playing him as a DE wasnt the most useful way to utilize Galeai. Who would have guessed?
Nice job here shedding the blocker and using those long arms to make the tackle
Here’s that spin move I mentioned. Wasn’t effective here, but it’s in the arsenal.
Here they have Galeai lined up over the center, because of reasons. Dropped back and spied the QB.
Spin move was a little bit more effective here. Was at least able to get past the tackle and force Burrow out of the pocket.
Best result with the spin move. It got better as the season went along
