thread on how i hid my love of Pink during my childhood because I was dumb:

So , my favorite color , as no one have guessed because i never wear it and never draw with it lmao , is blue . I love blue . But I also do love Yellow , and Pink , They are my three favorite colours.

When I was a kid , I claimed i hated pink , because Oooh little Ely breaking Gender roles by liking blue because "blue is for boys and pink is for Girls"
Little did I know that It was the dumbest thing I ever did. Because that was just me basically hating on "feminine girls"

By hating Pink to break Gender codes , i was actually Reinforcing them By believing That there are colors for boys and colors for girls .
It is such a small thing , but i've seen a lot of posts on internet , usually short comics or illustrations -

I'm sure you've already seen at least one of them too , the classical "Me vs the other girls" . It's actually just making fun of Other people because of who they are . Destroying gender roles isn't about doing the exact opposite of them no matter what.

It's about accepting everyone as they are. It would be really dumb to think that to destroy genderroles , you have to force every man to wear dresses and Every woman to wear jeans , or , in my case , to hate a fucking color lmao

I have no idea where this thread is going It was just about how dumb i was but now it's deep lmao , now I just Appreciate whatever the fuck i want without the fear of being "too girly"
