I was a customer of @ChloeEudalyPDX @ChloeEudaly Reading Frenzy for 20 years. I remember first going in to buy Fantagraphic comics in 1995 and knowing I’d always be able to rely on her having cool stuff. 1/n
I was stoked when she reopened on Mississippi and even more stoked when I heard she was going to run for city council. I knew Portland needed someone like her and when she won, I knew she’d champion so many needed reforms. 2/n
Chloe is running for re-election and I’ve grown very cold on her continuing in her role on the city council. This issue with @ORemployment would have been a bee in her bonnet back in the day but not today. 3/n
Chloe knows she’s got to keep mum on communications failures from incompetent agency employees like @gailkk and about the abysmal leaderdhip @OregonGovBrown has shown in getting self employed Oregonians the money they’ve been promised by the federal government. 4/n
The Chloe of 5 years ago would’ve called for Kay Erickson to step down from her role as director of OED. The Chloe of 10 years ago wouldn’t sit by and listen to @JeffMerkley Tweet into the void abt Orange Man Bad while Portlanders are just days away from not being able to pay 5/n
their rent because their work is closed and OED still threatening several more weeks of delayed Pandemic Unemployment Assistance. 6/n
The Chloe of 15 years ago wouldn’t sit by while @repblumenauer claimed that OED was underfunded. She would’ve dragged him & @RonWyden for having $80 million sitting around for 11 years and not pushing for upgrades sooner. She’d harangue them for doing anything other than that 7/n
The Chloe of 20 years ago would’ve been an ally to the tens of thousands of gig workers who didn’t ask to be penniless while @RepBonamici tells Oregonians about seeking guidance from the @USDOL while simultaneously watching Washington State and 16 other states enact PUA. 8/n
The Chloe of today is the insider political animal that she promised she was going to rail against. She’s cozy with all the failures I’ve mentioned in this thread and she’s giving them all a pass because she wants a future where she plays the same games they’re playing. 9/n
And if you think @SamAdamsPDX is any different, well, you’re in for more of the same.
