red velvet fans are already aware but most people outside of the fandom don’t know about this: yeri is a passionate songwriter. recently, she revealed that she has been writing songs since her debut in 2015.

yeri has written and composed several songs, one of which she released as a station. ‘dear diary’ is a song about yeri’s feelings as a young adult. additionally, she also directed the music video.

yeri explained the personal meaning of ‘dear diary’ in a birthday letter. while the song focuses on her own feelings, it is also supposed to encourage and support others who feel the same way. she talks about the bond between her and the fans not being a one-sided love.

she does plan on focusing even more on this passion. in a rather recent interview, she revealed that she’s been working on her own music consistently.

yeri is very vocal about her love for her fans. I will name a few instances here but to be honest, this thread would be too long if I mentioned all of them.
