Some #Packers draft thoughts:

1. After the Top 4 WR’s were gone, I believe Gutenkust felt Pittman, Higgins, Aiyuk & Mims there was a drop off and were all the same so he went for the best value & highest rated player in QB Love.

Add to it next years EVEN MORE LOADED WR class

2. Love has the tools to be an elite QB if he cleans things up. He has an ideal person to model his game after in Rodgers, who he has a very similar skill set and traits coming out. If things work out the Packers could have 45 years of steady/elite QB play, unprecedented in NFL.

3. Dillion is a better compliment to Jones than Williams (who I love). Dillion fits LaFleur’s offense perfectly. Gutenkust has to pay Jones, but he he doesn’t Dillion is an excellent option to be the lead back.

4. By NOT selecting a WR, they must have felt that the guys in the room are better option in the short term (next season) then any rookie not in the top 4 of this class would have.

5. By adding the OL in this class the Packers acknowledge that they need to get better there. Runyan and Hanson have a shot to be very good, and soon.

6. The way the LaFluer offense works the Deguara picks makes sense. Look at S.F. & ATL offense under Shannahan, the H-Back is critical.

7. While my 1st impression wasn’t favorable, and this isn’t a sexy draft that addressed the WR need, it may be just what the Packers need in the short and long term to be successful.
