When you're talking about specifically denying Deaf people access to information put out by our government... that IS a fight about accessibility.

Nobody should be lied to by the government, but that's a different discussion. Right here, right now, we are being lied to. https://twitter.com/WeAreNIM/status/1254531622835113985
Deaf people - like everyone - deserve full access to that information that the government is putting out. Lies included.

"Why?"

Because access to information means access to *all* information. Good, bad, silly, informative, entertaining, and yes, even inaccurate.
I really don't like calling specific individuals out unless they're doing a few specific things and doubling down on them.

But this person is making me feel um.. I don't know the right term, but I am uncomfortable. And doubting my interpretation here even tho it seems clear
This is the second time I've seen them & the second time they've insisted I "revile" them when I don't know who they are. 😔

The first time I ever saw this account they commented on my post to say they were shocked I haven't blocked them. I asked why & they got angry
Well, maybe not angry. But upset. They were upset I couldn't remember an interaction I guess I had with them in the past? I searched for tweets with both our @ s and this was the first interaction we had. I asked about that. They said that it was on an old account over a year ago
I asked what account so I could search and get context, but they never told me what account. Just said they were disappointed that it meant "so much more" to them than it did to me.

I feel bad I can't remember. I wish I could.
But then this post I was just scrolling through Twitter and saw what... clearly looks like arguing that deaf people shouldn't have access to White House covid briefings... right?? So I replied explaining why this accessibility matters...
I got around to replying to their reply to me today and... idk now they keep telling me I hate them. I didn't think I did, I don't know who they are. 😔
I had not been intending to quote tweet, and maybe it was wrong. But they weren't listening to me about why accessibility to information is important REGARDLESS of the information. They were doubling down instead. I know people don't like to believe me on stuff.
And they think I have some personal vendetta against them, so sure, of course they wouldn't believe me. Maybe someone else? I quote tweet explaining to everyone why I believe accessibility matters. Maybe someone else can explain it better than me. 😔
But idk, maybe I'm confused.
I mean I am confused. I'm very confused.
