I just want to say one thing about the Anthony McFarland Jr character debate. Well, actually two things.

First, the anonymous scout saying he's a child and acted out has never been corroborated by anyone else. Every article alleging character issues goes back to this one source.
Second, I spent a lot of time last night -- way to much time -- reading about McFarland trying to figure out which ankle was sprained last season (by the way, @AnttMacc_ can you help me with this? Right or left ankle sprain? Thanks).
I read game reports from local reporters and interviews with McFarland and his father going all the way back to high school. I went through the Twitter TLs of the reporters that covered DeMatha and Maryland. I watched his college games.
Not once did I see McFarland give anything but maximum effort on the field, even in the games where he was playing through injury. His linemen helped him up after he was tackled. He helped his QB up after a sack. I saw a teammate.
I read about McFarland's relationship with fellow RB and college roommate for all 3 years at Maryland, Javon Leake in multiple interviews. They supported each other on and off the field. Here's one example from a local news outlet:
And I went back through McFarland's twitter TL all the way back. Anyone can delete tweets but you can't add old tweets. And what I saw made me think that this anonymous scout got it totally wrong.
Kevin Colbert and @CoachTomlin had so many insights into this young man. Why would we believe an anonymous scout who may never have even gone to one of McFarland's games or spoken to him personally when we have direct information from a current Steelers coach and a teammate?
So let's just put this character nonsense about Anthony McFarland Jr to rest. He's never done anything but show up and work and support his team as far as I can tell.
