Discontentment fueled by comparison is deadly
They have your dream job/career , they are living in your dream house, they have the margin you don’t have to support the causes you are passionate about .
There is a little whisper that tells you how much you need to have what they have to get respectable, acceptable and lovable
That little whisper has the potential to steal your joy
Look at what Solomon calls it, he calls it chasing the wind
👇🏾
Ecclesiastes 4:4 Then I observed that most people are motivated to success because they envy their neighbors. But this, too, is meaningless—like chasing the wind.
it’s a dissatisfaction guaranteed !!!
Listen here, When you catch yourself looking or drifting in somebody’s else direction /lane say it to yourself, say “that’s chasing the wind, I don’t want to chase the wind “
this is by no means passive and doesn’t mean for you to be non productive.

Ecclesiastes 4:5 “Fools fold their idle hands,
    leading them to ruin.”

But......
Ecclesiastes 4:6
“Better to have one handful with tranquility
than two handfuls with toil and
    and chasing the wind.”
this rubs us the wrong way in our culture because our culture says more more more . Tranquility says satisfaction satisfaction ,satisfaction.
Listen , You cannot compare your way to peace and tranquility .
Always Look to others for inspiration not imitation
