Please stop using “mental illness” to describe Trump’s behavior. People often use this as a catch all for behaviors they don’t understand and it is wrong and stigmatizing. Trump is cruel, he is ignorant, he is racist. He is under prepared. A grifter. There are many good words.
You can also say Trump is devoid of empathy.
Sometimes people use “mentally ill” for against sense of against science. Again, wrong.
When you say Trump is “mentally unfit” are you suggesting he gets a 72 hour hold? Because that makes no sense. He clearly passes the bar for competence.
People can just do very bad things that make them very bad people.
When their badness takes them more than 2 standard deviations outside of typical it just means they are really bad. Stunningly bad. It does not make them “mentally ill.”
Evil can just be evil. Maybe it makes some people feel better to claim his behavior must be a byproduct of psychosis or what other diagnosis they think Trump must have to make him "mentally unfit."
And cognitive decline is a different discussion. Cognitive decline is not a mental health diagnosis.
And those saying he is has narcissistic traits or a narcissistic personality disorder. Well, that doesn't make someone incompetent. And what's the treatment? Cognitive behavioral therapy, not removal from employment.
