The Cosmos vs Grayson stuff is yet another reminder that internet speed past a certain point literally does not matter, what matters is packet loss, and how bottlenecked your connection is. https://twitter.com/Cagt3000/status/1254483034168049664
If you have 100mbps down and your 8 siblings are streaming Netflix at once you're going to drop more packets than someone that live in a 1 bedroom studio apartment with 20mbps down, all else equal.
Please, for the love of God, stop testing internet speed and test packet loss

This is to say nothing about the situation as a whole but please please please start conducting the right tests
For windows users, you conduct a packet loss test by pinging any website by pressing windows + r, typing "cmd", and then typing "ping <website>" -- usually something stable like google, to get a general idea of how many packets your connection drops. https://twitter.com/MinoruKR/status/1254493573594177537
I don't know exactly how to do it on Mac OS/Linux, but their command lines are far more powerful than windows so it's probably not too dissimilar.
*literally does not matter for smash
As in, smash isn't uploading a video of your play to your opponent while you play. It just transmits your inputs.
