One more? Ok, one more.
When your consultant is back in the office after the ward round but he's worried about that one sick patient that you were also worried about and decide to ring the ITU consultant.
When he finds out who it is on call, the ITU consultant everyone respects.
When they come on the ward to see the patient and you KNOW everything is under control
When they look over the patient together and realise they have to call the specialist they don't especially like
When the specialist arrives and has no clue about what's been happening with the patient, and she has to go over the entire story again
When she asks "Maybe a CTPA would be a good idea" and he knows this means "We should do a CTPA"
When the patient has gone to ITU, and the acute physician expresses his gratitude for the help given.
When the case is eventually discussed at the departmental M&M
