There's been a lot of talk today on fantasy races and how to avoid perpetuating real-world racist stereotypes. It is hard to cover such a complex subject on a few tweets, but some pointers are in order.

1) Include more human ethnicities in your fantasy world.
2) If you're basing a fantasy race on some real-world culture, don't erase that culture. If your elves take visual cues from Chinese culture, make sure your world has a human culture based on China. If possible, ask a person with that heritage to help you develop those elements.
3) No naturally-occurring fantasy race should be born evil. Save that for supernatural threats, like demons and some undead. And even there, there are plenty of stories about good demons and undead (even if they are the exception).
4 - If you still want marauding orcs, think about *why* those orcs are marauding. Perhaps their leaders filled them with notions of Manifest Destiny, toxic masculinity, and contempt for other cultures. But these are *learned* behaviours, which can be unlearned.
