More than 50 amazon workers at MSP1 in Shakopee, MN walked off the job just after 12am this morning to protest the elimination of unpaid time off, unsafe conditions, & the appearance of retaliation against workers who speak out.

There are two confirmed COVID cases at MSP1; some fear Amazon is hiding others. The elimination of unlimited unpaid time off (UPT) — instituted to protect workers who fear for their health — comes at the beginning of Ramadan, which many MSP1 workers will be observing.

Hasan said, "Amazon is forcing us to make an impossible choice between keeping our families safe or losing our jobs. Amazon has utterly failed to protect workers like me, potentially putting not just us but our families, neighbors, and customers at risk. This is the last straw.”
