Jimbo Fisher summer camps in Tallahassee were something else. 6-7 years ago so much talent used to roll through campus for the chance to throw for Fisher.
One thing about his camps, if you came to campus you were going to work out. No question about it. That was a big difference under Fisher to Taggart. Seeing Sims on the sideline at summer camp in sneakers was something you would not have seen under Fisher.
Y'all remember the summer Malik Henry, De'Andre Johnson, Jacob Eason and Deondre Francois all threw at the same camp. Francois was already signed at the time, but was working out with the others.
Malik Henry flew in from Cali. He was uncommitted at the time
De'Andre Johnson was there, I think he was already committed at this point. Still there to compete and workout. That was the environment Fisher developed. You came to camp to put on a show, committed or not.
Jacob Eason flew in from Washington and threw alongside Henry. Fisher was already locked in on Henry, he passed on offering Eason. The next day Eason went to Athens for camp and the rest is history. At this point Henry was Jimbo's guy
Kai Locksley was at camp the month before. I asked Jimbo what he was going to do if all three QB's committed, he said, "I'll let them figure it out, but I'll sign them all if they want to come."
