HALF-FORMED THOUGHTS: I'm not confident anyone's ever been able to explain to me a satisfactory distinction between 'understanding' a relationship in maths we'd use a formula for and just deriving it. Is using a formula and being able to derive it enough to 'understand' it? 1/2
Gut says no. The more I think about it the more I'm coming round to the idea 'understanding' is as nebulous a concept as 'creativity' in as far as two people could be using those words to mean completely different things. 2/2
