I do wonder how the CNN of a decade or so ago might be handling this story.

No panels. No political gobbledygook.

Just a boatload of reporters doing some actual reporting on a multitude of subjects.

Yes. Stories on the President. But loads of other in-depth reports too

There are many great reporters and photojournalists still at CNN.

And they still do great work.

But what they do is hard. Takes time. Takes effort.

Sitting a few panelists in front of a camera to look at everything through a Trumpian lens is easy. Takes little effort.

On yet another incredibly deadly week in this country...

a week that saw outbreaks increase in nursing homes in states like Colorado...

a week that saw millions more unemployed...

it appeared more journalism was devoted to bleach.

And that’s sad.
