I’ve been getting tons of amazing comments about people wanting to get a #dog or rescue one during this #COVID19 crisis since they are at home.
TBH, this has never been a more awesome time for me as a dog having my family home.
BUT: here are facts about dogs and puppies! 1/5
Puppies will cost ave 1000-2000 in vet bills their first two years. For check ups, shots, fixing etc. Puppies are prone to accidents and despite all the love and care I got, somehow I broke my toe-in half. To fix my toe instead of amputation it cost 1500 on top. 2/5
#Dogs eat a ton of food- and the bigger dogs like me go through even more. I’m on a high quality food and it’s expensive.
Puppies need to be trained for potty breaks every hour for about two weeks to get good habits.
Puppies should also go to professional puppy training. 3/5
As #dogs age, they develop more issues. Some get joint issues and require surgery. Some get cancers. These cost thousands. They are a lifetime commitment and not cheap.
Many people love their dogs but quickly get into financial problems.
Save or get pet insurance. 4/5
Finally, most dogs need 30 mins minimum exercise each day and also need constant brain games.
Training your dog and keeping it healthy will leave you with a creature that will live its best life with you. Us dogs just love you humans, but we come with fine print. #dogs 5/5
