I've probably got this wrong but if we take the estimated death toll calculated by @ChrisGiles_ of the FT to include care & residential homes then our death rate per million of the population is by far the highest in the world. I make it 642.2 up to & including yesterday. 1/2
If I have made a mistake, feel free to explain it calmly & kindly. Obviously, some of the other countries' figures may be 'hospital only'. Meanwhile, I'm still reading articles about how well the government has done. It makes newspaper Brexit reporting look honest. Almost. 2/2
San Marino (pop 33,918) would be in the top spot. Obviously, these calculations assume a degree of consistency & honesty across the board - which may well prove to make a mockery of any conclusions.
