Packing capacity was an issue long before Coronovirus, everyone in the industry knew it...

There are powerful interests aligned to keep it that way.

The producers and the consumers of animal protein are the ones who are paying the price.
What harm is coming to plants that shut down?

When they open back up, cattle are cheaper and their boxed beef prices are even higher.

I’m sure they did all they could 🙄 to prevent this...
And the next thing will be demand destruction from higher prices, which again, producers will not participate in any of those windfalls, because all that margin is captured at the back end of the industry.

Do you see why cattlemen are frustrated?
It’s bad enough that they have essentially all the leverage (remember before the virus), but they suck at managing that leverage too!

And there is literally no oversight from regulators except to neuter any complaints by engaging complicit associations for a dog and pony show.
This isn’t some far flung conspiracy theory either, this is the reality of our cattle industry and the fight has been brewing for years.

Be wary of people who NOW say that “we should come together to craft a solution for the industry”

WTF do you think we’ve been trying to do?
Just want to lay my beliefs out there plain and simple.

Judge away.
