Saying Rise feels less personal than Tomb Raider is bullcrap. Rise is what makes it personal. She stumbles upon Yamatai and the solarii, but she goes after the source, after Trinity, she wants answers, she needs this. She didn't need Yamatai. Siberia is where she takes control.
Yeah, she was supposed to find Yamatai, but not WHAT she found in yamatai. She wasn't ready for any of that and she didn't want any of it either. Rise is where she says "this is about me too, and I'm taking control of the motherfcking situation".
Rise of the Tomb Raider is about her loss, her need to punch back, her need to KNOW what she saw wasn't a one time thing, it wasn't her going crazy.
Of course I'd love to see further into her PTSD, other than what little we got in the comics, but she's so angry at the start of Rise... There are so many unresolved issues there...but she ignores it all and Swan dives head first into work. Just like she learner from her father
I will protect Lara's development in Rise of the Tomb Raider TILL MY LAST BREATH, people, this is not a joke
