Does it ever bother you that as we continue to digitize media, we draw a line in the sand and once we have crossed that line, the majority of history and art and the way things are written down can be deleted or altered as the IP owner sees fit?
Once something is printed, while it may be inaccurate or slanted, it’s physically there. Someone can report something digitally and remove it later, and with all that’s happening.... a lot of information goes missing. We will collectively forget things.
Not just news stories... not simply names of those who have died or been victimized or had their livelihoods crushed by someone who can pay to have something scrubbed.

This isn’t new. It’s been going on for as long as we have been able to report things.
Whether it’s covering something up or from which perspective things are written

We are fine with constantly being manipulated to form one or more driving opinions that spin the world in different directions based on who we do or don’t have a “duty” to wipe off the map
The fact that the subject of information, while deeper than it was before, can be hidden better. It’s not because it doesn’t exist or because it’s been erased. It’s that we, and our children who will have it worse, will adapt to this way of taking in information.
The takeaway I’m talking about here isn’t everything before the last tweet. The one I mean is that the paradigm shift caused by emergent forms of media will reform how information as a concept exists. How we sift, parse, post and reformat. It’s changed by stacking.
Each pile added to the next, reproducing it’s own effects with the magnitude of its own numbers, tearing out into our world and burying us in the superfluous. Creating a truly unruly and unnavigable reality. And with that, we collapse into ourselves like dying stars.
And the olds are just like “how weak” like they didn’t literally just spend the last 60 years priming us for disaster and getting their news from a piece of paper that some kid that works for news corps owned by pedophiles and disaster capitalists hucked at their door.
