I& #39;ve heard some variation of the following dozens of times, mostly from proudly dumb no-mask low-info boomers: "I just go shopping all day, there& #39;s nothing else to do." Or in one case, "I get bored and go to Home Depot and walk around every day." Often zero criticism follows.
I don& #39;t need to waste your time telling you how irresponsible that kind of mentality is, but really it brings up something else that I feel is a phantom menace in this whole thing, and that is older adult peer pressure. These people are basically high schoolers.
And they are terrified of standing up to people they know. I see it every time I go food shopping - there will be some older no-mask Boston tough guy talking to someone they know. That person will be uncomfortable, because the talker is too close, but they won& #39;t say anything.
