When a contact tracing app comes to Canada, I’ll be looking for the source code to be published, with no location tracking, and endorsements from established public interest and civil society folks.

I worry that the ambient level of suspicion and distrust of government and law enforcement is high enough that many will refuse to install an app unless it’s completely transparent, noninvasive, and can’t be bootstrapped into something else later.
