That means that we can have millions of silent carriers roaming around who, with time will also suffer some consequences. Which means, simply, that we cannot ever get a handle on this epidemic until either we have a vaccine, or we can test and retest every person. 2/

And we now know, based on this study by UM in Miami, that there are more silent carriers than we had even imagined. (Estimated at 6% of the Miami/Dade population. An upcoming similar random antibody survey in New York will yield similar results.

Taken together, all of these elements add up to a frightening picture of a virus that has the potential to become a population killer... without either a vaccine or testing capacity. I don’t say this lightly, but we have a very serious problem here.
