A Ramadan Thread!!
I’ve realized that this Ramadan especially is such a great opportunity, bc not only is it the most blessed month of the year, but also since were under lockdown were so far away from any bad influences (people or otherwise) and it really is a great time for self improvement,
religion-wise or in general, So anyways that’s why this is a thread of good habits to establish this month that will hopefully carry on into the rest of your year!
1) reading Ayat al Kursi after each fard (mandatory) prayer: I started consciously reading this ayah after each Salah at the beginning of the year and now it’s second nature to me and even tho it’s a very small thing to do it has a huge reward:
2) reading the following Du’a after each prayer (another small habit that is v beneficial):
3) (this is more Ramadan specific) waking up in last third of the night before fajr (btwn 2:30 and 4:25am in Amman) and performing tahajjud (2,4,6 etc pairs of rakat) prayer and making duaa. Allah does not say no to anyone who asks for something in duaa, esp in that time frame.
4) Reading a little Quran each day: I’ve really not read much Quran this past year so I’m starting out small and reading a page or so everyday to make that routine for after Ramadan.
5) stop swearing + gossiping
I feel like this is a given but it’s well known that if you stop doing a bad habit for 30-40 days, then the habit is broken (also works for nail biting !!)
6) getting used to reading surat al nas, Surat al falaq, and Surat al ikhlas, also Surat al mulk and Ayat al Kursi before sleeping. Takes less than 15 minutes and has big benefits:
my goal is that this thread helps at least one person, or that at least somebody learns something new and uses it. Ramadan kareem:)
