AL WATYAH, LIBYA: MORE THAN AN AIR BASE

STRATEGIC CONSIDERATIONS

Turkey 🇹🇷 repeatedly asked Algeria 🇩🇿 & Tunisia 🇹🇳 for an operations base in order to support its Libyan effort, to no avail.

It needs to search no more, Al Watyah is ideal for this task !
...
TACTICAL CONSIDERATIONS

The base is protected on 2 flanks, West & North by the Tunisian border & the Sea .

These 2 sides can be reinforced; the West by a silent deal with a reluctant (but persuadable) Tunisian gvmt for a retreat / evacuation West in case of trouble;
...
On the North the positioning of Turkish ships on the West Libyan coast will be necessary

Turkish marines should secure the shore line between Zuwara & Surman; control the 2 roads Zuwara-Al Watyah & Surman - due South; construct a resupply / evacuation point in Zuwara shore
…
Finally the S / SE arc — mainly desert — can be secured by radar sensors, drone patrols, + interventions as needed

This is a secondary line of defense since with Zindan changing sides to #GNA, the entire North-West #Libya is denied to #LNA

BACK TO STRATEGY

It becomes clear why #GNA & #Turkey 🇹🇷 hi command privileged Western Libya as part of a multi-pronged attack

Al Watyah can become a major command, air, logistics & resupply center

When taken and secured by Turkish AA, heavy transports will start their work
…
Heavy transports, Anka-S long range drones, as well as helicopters will be stationed there.

If Turkey may not want to station F4 or F16 planes (for obvious reasons), it has another ideal candidate: the armed HurkuĹź-C.
...
The armed HurkuĹź-C may not yet be completely ready (the training version is already in service) but the schedule can be expedited.

It may be eventually operated by Libyan pilots. The low flying plane will be ideal for the terrain, with very low procurement and operational costs
