i don't like how the Netflix subtitles for The Untamed use Yanli's real name instead of actually translating Shijie 师姐 into "Senior Sister" and Jin Guangyao calling Xichen Er Ge (Second Brother) 二哥 is just translated back to his actual name. The deference is really important!

especially in the case of Jin Guangyao, Lan Xichen and Nie Mingjue's tremendously fucked up 三尊 ~Venerated Triad relationship, JGY's deference to LXC （二哥）and NMJ （Big Brother/大哥）is important!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also, because of Jin Guangyao, Lan Xichen and Nie Mingjue becoming sworn brothers. Nie Huaisang now calls Lan Xichen and Jin Guangyao 二哥 (Second Older Brother) and 三哥 (Third Older Brother) since he is Nie Mingjue's biological/blood younger brother

Nie Huaisang crying to Xichen and Guangyao about all his problems wailing Er Ge! San Ge! means so much.... especially when you watch Fatal Journey which I know IS NOT MXTX canon but I really love it because NIE BROTHERS!!!!! and Nie Brothers only being half-brothers!

also Lan Wangji doesn't choose to adopt calling Nie Mingjue and Jin Guangyao as "older brothers" even though his older brother is sworn brothers with them.... WHICH IS IMPORTANT, wrt Nie Huaisang

ok I'm rewatching ep 40 and they had Jin Ling refer to Jin Guangyao as "Jin Guangyao" instead of translating 小叔叔 (Little/Younger Paternal Uncle) WHICH IS SO WRONG LOL since obviously a kid from the younger generation would NEVER EVER call someone older by their given name
