Out of the thousands of minis in my collection, this is the rarest mini I own. It's a one of a kind. Not only converted and painted by John Blanche himself, photos of it also appeared in White Dwarf and Ratspike. As a kid I could never have imagined I would own it.
This is the second rarest. This dwarf was only given out to those who attended the opening day of the Games Workshop Nottingham store. It was donated to me so I could complete a reproduction of the undead diorama that John Blanche made for the store.
This is the diorama in warhammer world. I have been collecting and painting every single figure shown. I am not far off having it done.
The Nottingham dwarf is seen guarding the lower gate.

I inherited this rarity from a collector who passed away. His sister gave it to a local store and asked them to give it to someone who would appreciate it as much as him.
That would be me.
I plan to repair and restore this Spined Dragon in a year or two.

Also needing restoration is leofwine, who is a rare figure from a scenario pack. I didn't know he was rare for years, I mistook him for a common elf model I had a few copies of. But, nope, rare as hens teeth.
Kegox here is another relatively rare dragon. To be honest I am dubious of this one being an original. If it is it aged very well indeed. I suspect it is a recast. Though, it's flawlessly done if it is. Not a double seam anywhere.
Kegox is the predecessor of Galrush (and a way better sculpt imo) and was a charity dragon for Orphington hospital in honour of Kevin Peat. He is also known as the Kevin Peat dragon.
I am lucky enough to have landed an emperor dragon super cheap as well.
I would kill for the legendary chicken dragon and giant.

Not as rare as the Citadel giant (which only had 1000 cast) the marauder giant is a nice find in a bag at Cancon. Happy score.
Speaking of scenario characters, I have picked up quite a few, but am yet to complete any sets. Mcdeath is my closest- I am just missing Lord and Lady McDeath. Because they are ridonks expensive.
And I am actually slowly getting through painting them all. This lass being the latest scenario pack character.
But yunno I haven't gotten around to painting them all. God, how can I ever make Nagash 1 look decent?
I have been on a bit of a first year of citadel kick of late. I dunno why, I actually came into the hobby the month Warhammer 40k was launched. So these all predate me. Still... trying to collect and make the old FF, WF, FS and FA figures look good is a fun challenge.
One of the hardest sets to collect is the Jes Goodwin Uruk Hai. (Three on left). The online bidding is usually bloody. Somehow I got three in the ten or so years I have been hunting.
Gothic horror is also a pain the arse to collect. This is all I have managed to gather. Each and every one is a banger of personality, and take me right back to my Cthulhu gaming teens.
Limited editions aren't actually the rarest minis, funnily enough. A heap got put back into the main lines during a catalogue change, and have been rereleased in collectors sets. Still, I always love me a limited edition.
I have never really understood "mint in box" collectors. I only leave minis in the box to keep them safe until it is time to crack them open and paint them. I feel a figure that isn't painted and played with isn't reaching its full potential for joy.
I do have a single citadel giant head (now painted). There are less than 1000 of these in existence now. One day I hope to get a complete one. It's a solid buttload of lead.
The first two chaos spawn are way harder to get than limited editions because finding them intact is the trick. The eye stalks fall off one and the legs snap on the other.
One of the joys in collecting is bringing back together sets that have been seperated. I finally got all the models from this white dwarf Personalities boxed set (gathering doubles along the way) and plan to finish painting them all next month. Just gotta find Ian in storage.
Three breasted undead ninja dwarf anyone? Yeah... shit got weird during the 80s. Lots of toilet humor too... literally, with a chaos toilet, dwarf on a loo, dwarf urinals and even a flasher dwarf.
This lichemaster was actually my very own from when i was a kid. I gave it to a friend when I gave up the hobby and moved to Australia in 1993. Decades later he gave it back!
Another boxed set I assembled from seperate lots. The monster set was one of the first things I bought as a kid. It was nice to own it again. So many memories.
