I don't agree with Tablighi Jamaat, it's worldview or theological approach but I find the attacks aimed at the person of Mawlana Tareq Jameel to be incredibly bothersome.
He has a history of preaching to the prostitutes, dancers and whatever other names they are given. He addresses them as "daughters" when he speaks to them and forbids calling them "prostitutes", "thots" etc. He considers men to be primarily responsible for their profession.
His view is that men create the demand for these profession and then drive women to the point of no other choice. He also has a particular rhetorical style where he lists social ills and deems them responsible for the our current state.
Sometimes he goes throughs a list of these vices, other times he would mention just one of them. On this particular instance, one of the vices he mentioned was female immodesty, and all the white knights are out of control.
As if he has committed a great crimes which has caused the sky to fall and the earth to shatter. The reason for giving this context is the following statement: it is absolutely acceptable for a scholar of Islam to call out female or male immodesty.
He doesn't need to prefix with several qualifiers and he doesn't need to call out both at the same time. Whether you ultimately agree or disagree with his conclusion is irrelevant, it's still a vice and a sin, and a scholar and a preacher is free to mention it.
