In the absence of sound data we should not rule out other causes of deaths in Kano such as cholera, Lassa fever, Meningitis, and malaria. Overcrowding, environmental/personal hygiene, abuse of antibiotics/recreational drugs, food contamination and lack of access to healthcare...
These are also concerns. Of course it appears now that Covid-19 has infiltrated the community even earlier than is reported. In addition to self-isolation, other measures should be taken such as:

Thorough cleaning/defumigation of living areas esp kitchens and food storage spaces
Thorough washing of fresh food items bought in the markets and parboiling meats with salt.

Avoidance of fresh farm milk and garri.

Construction of drainage systems by Gov and those that are able.

Donation of living quarters by Gov and those that are able.

Food relief.
Donations of mosquito nets, detergents, and soaps.

Improved access to electricity and clean water.

Good neighbourliness even in isolation.

Directives to reduce prevalence of open defecation.

Prioritising health services to those most in need.

Vaccinations.
Community testing of COVID-19 in areas where the most cases are reported.

Suffocating movements in entry and exit points of the state.
