Instead of yelling at me for the rest of my life about how she doesn’t understand why I get tattoos, my mother GOT A DAMN TATTOO with me. Something she said she would NEVER do.

And ever since that day, I saw the effort reciprocated that I had been giving to have a better relationship with my mom. It’s flourishing and it was because I finally opened my mouth and told her how I felt about the things she says or does.

I can tell it hurt her to hear, but what hurt her more is that she had hurt me. I say all this to say, if you truly love, fuck with, care about the people in your circle, sometimes doing something you’ve never done can do things you’ve never seen.
