First of all, the title itself "Sweet Night", in the drama, it& #39;s related to soju. When it appears to taste sweet, it means that you had a happy day or you did something good for the day. +
In contrast, when it tastes bitter, it means that you had a bad day, and a bitter night follows. The drama itself is about the bittersweet life of Park Sae Ro-Yi (Park Seo Joon) +
This is where Jo Yi-Seo (Kim Dam-I) enters, wanting to make Sae Ro-Yi& #39;s night sweet.

For this verse, "On my pillow, can& #39;t get me tired" reflects a sleepless night. I personally think it& #39;s from Park Sae Ro-Yi& #39;s perspective. Since it& #39;s a sleepness night, this is probably one of Sae Ro-Yi& #39;s bitter nights. +
Here, Sae Ro-Yi shares his sleepless night& #39;s thoughts on how he hopes that the door ( which I claim is love) is still open for him and Jo Yi-Seo. Especially when he said that the window (which is like a metaphor of a glimpse of love?) opened one time for them +
but then it only says that it only opened one time (which I assumed was when Yi-Seo confessed her love) , then it closed, which also translates as their window to love has been closed shut because Sae Ro-Yi rejected Yi-Seo.
This line is Sae Ro-Yi& #39;s sleepless night& #39;s thoughts. When he rejected Yi-Seo, he regretted it and made him feel as if his forever is falling down and he& #39;s wondering if Yi-Seo would still accept him.
The first two lines reflects his regret over rejecting Yi-Seo because he never thought he& #39;d fall for her. "reach the shore"- means that he already did the act of rejecting Yi-Seo. +
"Guess we were ships in the night" - reflects Sae Ro-Yi& #39;s hopelessness towards his feelings. That& #39;s why it took a long time before he started to admit his feelings.
(I actually got this idea from @soapytxt, thank u!!)
(I actually got this idea from @soapytxt, thank u!!)
These lines show the beginning when Sae Ro-Yi finally discovered that he& #39;s feeling more than what a best friend should. (When Yi-Seo got sick and was kidnapped) He& #39;s in denial of his feelings and these thoughts kept bugging him.
When he finally admits to his feelings, he wondered if it would still be possible for them to be lovers from a best friend status. These lines reflect the start of Sae Ro-Yi& #39;s expression of his love towards Yi-Seo (and he was very shy about it).
then the whole chorus would repeat!
