As the rumours abound about UK #highered online teaching from September, what do people think of the following alternative options assuming the rates of COVID-19 are much reduced but not non-existent? (Thread)
Option 1: some in-person classes are offered but only if all students live on/near campus (don't use public transport to get to uni) and do 14 days of quarantine before class starting. Staff would have to do the same.
Option 2: in-person classes are offered at unis for students living in the locality; every student in every UK university can do one year's study at the closest university in geographical proximity which will be recognised/accredited by all UK unis.
(Opt 2 would be based on the locality having achieved some level of virus eradication and being able to exclude people from outside the locality. Also would be tricky but not impossible for subjects such as Law where there are 'regional' differences.)
