"Every justification I have seen for Steve’s decision in Endgame is that he deserved it. But what they say he deserved, the life he wanted, took the form of a woman. And in the final scene, where we see him get his reward for his “good” behavior, he is living out his fantasy." https://twitter.com/Leavinghope_AO3/status/1254241716334280705
"And she doesn’t get to say a word.

Peggy Carter was reduced to a prize, a silent woman who we are meant to assume is grateful to have this man back in her life. Because what woman would possibly be uncomfortable to have a man decide he was entitled to her?"
One of my big issues with EG was the ending; this article surmises why I'm still uncomfortable a year later, why I still argue with random ppl on twitter over it.

A new generation of kids learned that woman are a prize for men and another generation had that belief validated.
And it has been validated.

That's what I'm arguing against; he deserved her, he loved her, he was being selfish. All of this ignores the fact there is a second highly evolved character involved in his decision.

Art reflects life.

How many men are going to take no now?
Disney owns 80% of our pop culture. 80%.

Think of how they are shaping culture, politics, norms. Because they are. EG made 2.2 billion dollars across the world.

Think how many ppl who love Steve Rogers now think it's fine to assume a woman is there for their pleasure.
And it's also interesting to see it's now being adopted by other stories (Alex Karev springs to mind).

More acceptance & creation of our collective society.

Society is a social construct; it's created and recreated by the shows we watch, the books we read, human actons.
And finally, it's cheap, depressing, lazy, uninspired writing. Not even like haha MCU bad writing but at the very basics of the hero's journey and character arcs bad writing.

Steve Rogers was a highly politicised and moral character who respected Peggy carter. He would never.
