Now seems like a good time to tell you all that there's a complete show on Amazon Prime, four seasons long, about queer 18th-century pirates giving the finger to the British Empire.

BLACK SAILS. You're welcome.

You should watch it just for Max and Anne, but it's especially brilliant in that it consistently portrays England as the antagonist. There are many villains, but ultimately, England is the bad guy.

I will just add that before you start it, do check for content warnings, as Season 1 deals with sexual assault and some of those episodes are very difficult to watch. But if you think you can push through, it is, overall, a remarkable, groundbreaking show.
