Anyone who follows me will know I have zero time for the old fool and think he should be imprisoned for killing my friend Oliver's dog. But I think it's a step too far to imply he is a Nazi and now we have evidence of how people construed that tweet. Could be fatal to the case. https://twitter.com/DrRobertZands/status/1253967112915365888
As far as I can see, the argument will be that Riley was "highlighting hypocrisy". See Cleverly's attempts to wriggle out of his mic drop gif when it became clear that the attack on Corbyn was more sinister than initially thought. https://mobile.twitter.com/JamesCleverly/status/1102345068579602432
The problem is that any reasonable reading of the tweet and the fact that it was tweeted just after news had broken of the mosque egging means that interpretation is objectively ridiculous. Add to that OJ's well known association with Corbyn. The Courts aren't stupid.
I've just read back this thread and it almost looks like I am offering some sort of defence to Corbyn or his hard left accomplices. I'm not. I just hate to see people throw away money in substantial legal costs.
