i think a lot of us from cultures that weren’t affected by their actions are afraid of overstepping but i hope most of us can agree that what they did was wrong. We can’t silence south asian people, we can’t speak for them but we can do something+
Don’t completely ignore the issue because you weren’t affected by it. We can do our part too by email capitol and support the ones that were, show that a lot of people care, we need to be empathetic.
I’m not trying to be a white savior, i just genuinely believe that allyship is most important when it comes to things like these. It’s useless when an “ally” looks the other way when cultural insensitivity happens, we have the power to educate them if we all do our part.
i want to make super clear that i’m not trying to make this about myself and i’m sorry if it comes off that way, english isn’t my first language so it’s hard to express myself properly sometimes.
