ZA rap artists struggle with this so much. They have not found a way to just engage & ask fans for support w/o guilt trips formed from false equivalence
In an attempt to seek additional support, they tend to come off as pissing on the support they currently enjoy.
You cannot scold folk into showing you support, if you look at your life, you'll see that they show up. Just give the value proposition
Hip hop artists in this country enjoy a varied support base, it is uncommon on this continent to have different rappers from Stogie, to Nasty, Reece, Zakwe to Focalistic, all having a share of the pie.
Can the support increase? Sure. But that increase won't come via Afrikaan band comparitive guilt trips.
