I had to phone the police last night as I heard a woman being beaten. I couldn’t tell which property her screams for help were coming from, but it didn’t matter and the police took it seriously.
#DomesticAbuse
I was terrified. I *know* how terrified she must have been.
I was scared that there would be ramifications so I ensured that the police knew I wanted to remain anonymous. Know you can do that. I used 999 and the operator was very kind and patient with me as I panicked cried.
It is not always safe for someone to #StayHome Be cognisant of that. Always phone the police if you suspect or hear #DomesticAbuse. Please. You could literally save someone’s life.
I am surprised that it was the first time I’ve had to make that call during the #lockdown. How horrific is that?
I hope with my whole being that she is safe.
I have to try to accept that my reaction is ok and not an overreaction: it was traumatic and amplified by the extreme circumstances.
