A thread - Good piece exploring capability of UK universities to offer high-quality online learning in Sept. https://www.theguardian.com/education/2020/apr/25/degrees-of-separation-can-universities-adapt-in-the-rush-to-online-learning">https://www.theguardian.com/education... I would add a few things.....
1 - Derby worth a mention as a university strategically engaging in online education,
2 even amongst the most prepared very few if any are offering online undergraduate degrees and there’s reasons for that - hence my poll here on 30 March, https://twitter.com/neilmosley5/status/1245261915632394241?s=21">https://twitter.com/neilmosle...
3 it’s not wholly accurate to say private companies only partner with ‘top’ universities, of the 30+ UK universities in partnerships there are many outside of Russell Group and lower down the rankings...if this is a measure of ‘top’...
...2U and the MOOC providers Coursera and edX have been most selective in terms of university standing.
4. ...I agree with @mweller - I worry about bad online learning meaning people thinking online learning is bad...actually said as much in EdTech podcast back in at beginning of March https://twitter.com/neilmosley5/status/1235473291311185920?s=21">https://twitter.com/neilmosle... still a concern
