I never thought I'd be put in the same "breath" as these great men, helping other men to become the best of themselves.

And since I am almost at 7k followers, let's talk about my journey, and what I learned.

THREAD https://twitter.com/Mango_Sheikh786/status/1254169263490977799
I started this account only 5 months ago, after I had devoured a ton of info material for years now.

Personally, I started with the marriedredpill subreddit and their book recommendations to become a proper husband.

But I quickly realized, this means becoming a proper man.
This Thread alone made me realize there are two worlds. The world we're told to live in, and the real world.

I was 30 years old when I woke up to reality, and that I've been misguided all my life.
With this newfound "reality" I literally devoured people's accounts and blogs.

I spent hours everyday on @EdLatimore 's feed and blog.
Digging the "coffee so black" jokes while being absolutely savage about real life self development, and how to interact with a fake world.
At this point, I was still reading, not taking action.

Basically mentally masturbating. I grasped the concepts at the most basic levels, and thought I was the shit.

I had a personal Twitter account (before SQ) and was acting like I knew everything. Most of us have been there.
I must've been pretty annoying, but I think this is part of the process.

At one point, I fucked up financially, and my marriage was on the brink of divorce. This woke me up.

It sobered me.
I didn't knew shit!

Because I never implemented the lessons.
I read about things, and thought this meant I got everything covered.

But until you ACT on the teachings, and practice them yourself, you know NOTHING.
It was then when I came across @PathToManliness Reclaim your Manhood book (yes, more reading) and thought

"This guy has been through divorce and all the shit. There is no need for me to go through it as well. How about I get my act together instead?" https://www.amazon.com/Reclaim-Your-Manhood-Ryan-Felman-ebook/dp/B07KB84N5S/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=reclaim+your+manhood&qid=1587883547&sr=8-1
I remember that day, when I decided to write down who I actually am, what my skills are, what my life looks like.

REAL, no bullshit introspection.
That's when it clicked. A long way to go.
I figured I start with the marriage, because this was a huge emotional and financial investment, so I needed to get that going.

I came across @Pat_Stedman 's email list, where he gives out so much free value, it's actually insane.
I asked him stuff on these emails, and he gave a ton of free advice to fix me up.

I did it, although it was tough in the beginning to unlearn 3 decades of bluepill conditioning.

I soldiered through, and I reaped the rewards, BE ON HIS LIST!
Those 4 people where the pillars of my self-development.

I was a mentee of them without them knowing.
I set myself out to implement some of their teachings each day.

It didn't take long and my wife came around fully.
Now I have way bigger goals than getting my dick wet, but I always remind myself of where I started.

The small wins to progression.

After I managed to set my mind to peace, fix my finances, I realized I should write about my journey and what I learned.
And that's when I decided to start SELFCONQUERING.

Inspired by Jordan Peterson's program https://www.selfauthoring.com/  which I would highly recommend.

I always had a thing for Greek mythology and ancient lifestyle, so naturally I chose the Spartans.
And now, I am at 7k followers only 5 months in, my blog is seeing more and more visits, and I almost sold 100 copies of my books.

People are DMing me every day how I help them to set their mind and life right, and honestly, this is such a great feeling.
There is nothing (I know of) like helping other people NOT making the mistakes you did.
Some are necessary to do yourself, most of them are not.

I have huge plans for this "brand" and I will try to help bring masculinity back.
None of this would've been possible if I didn't come across these great people I am now named amongst myself.

I never thought this would work, I just sat down and wrote 40 articles in 2 months before I even launched.
Thinking nobody would read it.
Now, thousands do and get their act together.

Moral of the story.
Your life is what you make of it. Find yourself mentors, if they know it or not doesn't matter.

But most importantly, ACT on what you learn. And keep doing it every day.
