im think. of juban. but in traditional japanese clothing..... set in an old timeline? not sure what the exact term is so ill look stuff up later

kinda ooc juza and banri but i'll still try my best
so im thinking: juza in an intricately designed kimono, crown prince...?

banri on the other hand, is the prettiest (and oldest) son of a large family who's indebted to juza's family. banri tells his father to sell him off, his father agreeing hesitantly..
lord the juban brainrot is strong.. since banri doesnt come from a well off family and is always giving way for his younger siblings, most of his kimonos and yukatas are patched up and have lots of repairs

he doesnt pack a lot due to that, and even his neatest kimono is worn out
juza and banri's first meeting was very tense, but what banri felt the most was the fear of being left in the the hands of hyodo juza, one of the most feared in the area for his stoic face and overwhelming strength.

juza doesnt say a lot to him. only acknowledging him as his-
father explained the details of why banri was here, and that juza would be marrying banri as a means of payment.

they dont talk much even after that, juza out of awkardness and banri out of fear.
juza takes notice of how most of banris clothing is worn out, and how hes constantly sewing parts of it.

it makes him want to spoil banri, cover him in the finest garments there are to accentuate his pretty face. and he does, even though banri doesnt want to.
banris mornings are different because of juza's insistence of giving him lavish clothing. instead of heading out to buy food to help make breakfast for his siblings or washing their clothes, he's now occupied with being dressed by the royal helpers.
and juza just watches most of the time. he likes seeing banri get dressed up, in all honesty. it's no way creepy, just him appreciating banri's visuals.

juza is dressed after banri, but banri doesnt see it often as hes escorted to the breakfast table.
oh my brain fuel is starting to run out wee woo. banri probably starts to unconsciously open up more to juza, starting with small conversations until everything becomes more casual.

he starts to find out more about juza. how he loves sweets, how much he cares for his
younger brother kumon, how he actually isnt a very aggressive person.

and it makes banri want to care for the misunderstood prince. he finds himself wanting to make sweets for him, wanting to help make meals, wanting to shower him in affection that he's been deprived of.
and juza appreciates it. he also starts to open up more to banri, in the gentle way he ties his hair, the way he helps banri with whatever he's doing, the way he starts to shower banri more with affection rather than material goods.
juza's parents are enamored to find that juza is starting to fall for banri, wanting only the best for their misunderstood firstborn. juza has so much love to give, and banri has so much love to receive.
the two of them never would have thought that it would end up like this, that an arranged marriage like theirs would flourish into something so real.
juban brainrot
bonus headcanons:
banri is skilled with his hands since he always used to need to do something for his siblings, and now he spends a lot of time making trinkets for juza. juza likes them a lot.

juza is good with making flower crowns and would often make one for banri, explaining
each flower's meaning with the objective to make banri blush. juza likes the way banri looks with flower crowns.....

banri treats kumon as one of his own siblings out of instinct, and would sometimes do stuff with him. juza finds himself smiling at that
